Build athletic strength and multi-planar movement mastery through functional training fundamentals!
We Recommend this for
1

Beginners looking to build a strong athletic foundation

2

Those who want to move better before moving heavier

3

Athletes seeking functional strength that transfers to real-world performance

4

Anyone transitioning from machine-based training to free weights and functional movement

5

Those who want to develop core stability and multi-directional athleticism

Why we created this program

Many beginners jump straight into heavy lifting without building the movement foundation that supports long-term progress and injury prevention. Traditional strength programs often neglect the lateral and rotational movements that are essential for real-world athleticism.

Alpha Performance 101 bridges this gap by teaching you to move in all three planes of motion while building genuine functional strength. Every exercise has a purpose: squats teach you to produce force, carries teach you to transfer it, and rotational work teaches you to control it.

This program is not about getting you tired. It's about making you capable. You'll finish these 8 weeks moving with more confidence, stability, and athletic potential than when you started.

Program Roadmap

This program progresses through four distinct phases over 8 weeks.

Phase 1 (Weeks 1-2): Movement Foundations. You'll establish proper movement patterns, learn bracing techniques, and develop tempo control. The focus is on bilateral movements in stable positions.

Phase 2 (Weeks 3-4): Stability and Control. Unilateral exercises and isometric holds challenge your balance and build positional strength. You'll develop the stability needed for more dynamic movements.

Phase 3 (Weeks 5-6): Multi-Planar Integration. Lateral lunges, rotational work, and change-of-direction patterns expand your movement vocabulary beyond the sagittal plane.

Phase 4 (Weeks 7-8): Performance Application. Power development, loaded carries, and density-based training bring everything together for real-world athletic performance.

Training Tips

Move well before you move heavy. This program prioritizes movement quality over load. If an exercise feels unstable or uncomfortable, reduce the weight and focus on control.

Every rep should be intentional. Use tempo cues to build body awareness and strength through the full range of motion. Rushing through movements defeats the purpose of functional training.

Rest days are part of the program. Your body adapts and grows stronger during recovery. Trust the process and use rest days for light mobility work or walking.

Progress is not always linear. Some weeks you'll feel stronger, others you'll need to dial back. Listen to your body and adjust intensity as needed while maintaining movement quality.

We’ll suggest weights using your 1RM.What's 1RM?1RM stands for “One-Repetition Maximum." It reflects the heaviest weight you can lift once, without compromising form. The % shown with the weight is the percentage of your 1RM. For example,
  • If your 1RM is 100kg
  • "80%" on a set means you should lift 80kg.

Hey, I'm Coach Nolan!

I specialize in functional training, mobility, and circuit work. My programs are designed to improve how your body moves in real life—building strength that translates to everyday activities while keeping your joints healthy and mobile. Whether it's core development, movement quality, or sustainable fitness, I'm here to help you move better at any age.

My philosophy is simple: move well before you move heavy. Quality always comes before quantity. I break down every movement step-by-step, focusing on proper form, controlled breathing, and smooth transitions. We build a strong foundation first, then layer on intensity. Whether it's Tabata intervals, core circuits, or functional strength work, the goal is always the same: move better, feel better, live better.

Fitness is a journey, not a race. I believe in steady, sustainable progress—celebrating small wins along the way rather than chasing dramatic transformations. There's no pressure here, just consistent encouragement. When you focus on form instead of speed, when you breathe through the challenge instead of fighting it, that's when real change happens. Stay with me, trust the process, and know that you're doing great—even on the hard days.
