Starting Position
1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and place the barbell in front of your feet.
2. With your back straight and knees slightly bent, grab the barbell. Your hands should be wider than shoulder-width apart.
3. Keep your chest up and your gaze forward.
During the Exercise
1. Use the power of your legs and back to quickly lift the barbell.
2. As the barbell passes your knees, use your shoulders and arms to lift the barbell overhead.
3. Once the barbell is overhead, fully extend your arms and stabilize your body.
4. Slowly return the barbell to the starting position.
Breathing Tips
Exhale as you lift the barbell, and inhale as you lower it.
